3. - (1) The Chairman of Ways and Means or a Deputy Chairman shall take the chair as Deputy Speaker when requested so to do by the Speaker, without any formal communication to the House.

(2) Whenever the House shall be informed by the Clerk at the Table of the unavoidable absence or the absence by leave of the House of the Speaker, the Chairman of Ways and Means shall perform the duties and exercise the authority of the Speaker in relation to all proceedings of this House, as Deputy Speaker, until the Speaker resumes the chair or, if he does not resume the chair during the course of the sitting, until the next meeting of the House, and so on from day to day, on the like information being given to the House, until the House shall otherwise order:
Provided that if the House shall adjourn for more than twenty-four hours the Chairman of Ways and Means shall continue to perform the duties and exercise the authority of Speaker, as Deputy Speaker, for twenty-four hours only after such adjournment.

(3) Whenever the House has been informed by the Clerk at the Table of the unavoidable absence or the absence by leave of the House both of the Speaker, and of the Chairman of Ways and Means, the First Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means shall perform the duties and exercise the authority of the Speaker in accordance with paragraph (2) of this order; and if the House should be so informed of the unavoidable absence or the absence by leave of the House of the First Deputy Chairman also, the Second Deputy Chairman shall perform those duties and exercise that authority.

3. - (1) Il Chairman of Ways and Means o un suo Vice assumeranno la presidenza dell’Assemblea in qualità di Vice dello Speaker quando gli sia chiesto di farlo dallo Speaker, senza alcuna comunicazione formale alla Camera.

(2) Ogni volta che la Camera venga informata dal Clerk at the Table (nota 3) della inevitabile assenza dello Speaker o dell’assenza autorizzata dalla Camera, il Chairman of Ways and Means svolgerà i compiti ed eserciterà l’autorità dello Speaker in relazione a tutte le procedure di questa Camera, in qualità di Vice dello Speaker, finché lo Speaker non riassuma la presidenza dell’Assemblea o, qualora non la riassuma nel corso della seduta, fino alla successiva riunione della Camera, e così di seguito da un giorno all’altro, previa analoga informazione data alla Camera, finché la Camera non disponga diversamente:
A condizione che, qualora la Camera si aggiorni per più di ventiquattro ore il Chairman of Ways and Means continuerà a svolgere i compiti e ad esercitare l’autorità dello Speaker, in qualità di Suo Vice, per le sole ventiquattro ore successive a tale aggiornamento.

(3) Ogni volta che la Camera venga informata dal Clerk at the Table della inevitabile assenza o dell’assenza autorizzata dalla Camera sia dello Speaker che del Chairman of Ways and Means, il Primo Vice del Chairman of Ways and Means svolgerà i compiti ed eserciterà l’autorità dello Speaker in conformità al paragrafo (2) del presente order; e se la Camera dovesse essere informata della inevitabile assenza o dell’assenza autorizzata dalla Camera anche del Primo Vice del Chairman of Ways and Means, il Secondo Vice del Chairman of Ways and Means svolgerà quei compiti ed eserciterà quella autorità.
